Rolf Habben Jansen says he expects a ‘small double-digit percentage’ drop in container volumes during the second quarter, following predictions of a much sharper drop by Maersk chief executive Søren Skou earlier this week. The head of the German carrier does though share confidence that his company too is well positioned to weather the headwinds posed by coronavirus

Taking costs out of the system early has put Hapag-Lloyd on a firm footing in the second quarter as it looks to ride out the pandemic, according to Rolf Habben Jansen
