Prevention of the Zika virus in China - Mosquito Eradication Certificate Required

To Our Valued Customers:

Several of our carrier partners have sent us advisories stating- All shipments from United States to China require presenting a “Mosquito Eradication Certificate” during the customs clearance process. It is the shipper’s responsibility to obtain the certificate issued by qualified entities prior to loading.

For shipments arriving at destinations in China without such a certificate, the consignee may apply for the “Mosquito Eradication Certificate” with the China Inspection and Quarantine Bureau (CIQ). The service and related fees applied by CIQ vary by port / location and are for the account of shipper.

As we obtain further clarification on what this announcement means we will follow up with additional information.

Thank you.
