URGENT CUSTOMER ADVISORY:  Work stoppage at all NY terminals

To Our Valued Customers:

We have learned of the following situation effecting the ports of NY/NJ today 1/29/16.

Please be advised that ILA work has stopped at all New York terminals as of 10am this morning.  We have been informed that the matter has been referred to the NYSA and counsel.

The Port Authority of NY & NJ released the following statement:

“There is an apparent labor walk off at all PONYNJ terminals. No truck operations at this time. All efforts to resume activity will be undertaken.” Additionally, “Due to the current work stoppage in the port, no new trucks will be allowed to queue on port roadways. Do not send trucks the Port at this time.”

The exact reason for this has not yet been explained, nor do we know at this point how long it will last.  We are actively monitoring the situation and will provide you with more information as soon as it becomes available.

In the interim please contact your local Laufer representative with any questions.

Thank you for your continued support.
